Streak

What is a Streak?

A Streak counts the number of consecutive calendar days on which you completed at least one Task of any type — whether it is a Goal Task or a Challenge Task. The streak is measured in your local timezone, so a "day" starts and ends at midnight in your configured timezone.

Maintaining a streak adds a bonus to your Karma score: each day in your current streak contributes 2 Karma points.

What Counts Toward a Streak

Both Goal Tasks and Challenge Tasks count equally toward your streak. Completing any single Task on a given calendar day is enough to keep your streak alive — you do not need to complete a minimum number of tasks per day.

  • Completing a Goal Task ✓ counts toward your streak.
  • Completing a Challenge Task ✓ counts toward your streak.
  • Completing both on the same day still counts as one streak day.

Longest Streak

In addition to your current streak, Peaky Twins tracks your longestStreak — the highest streak value you have ever reached.

Your longestStreak is preserved and never decremented. Even if your current streak resets to zero, your longest streak record remains intact as a permanent achievement.

When a Streak Resets

Your streak resets to zero after a full calendar day in your local timezone passes with no completed Task. In other words, if midnight comes and goes and you have not completed any Task that day, your current streak ends.

To avoid a reset, complete at least one Task — of any type — before midnight in your configured timezone each day.

Example

Suppose you complete tasks on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but miss Thursday:

  • Monday: Complete one Goal Task → streak = 1
  • Tuesday: Complete one Challenge Task → streak = 2
  • Wednesday: Complete two Goal Tasks → streak = 3, longestStreak = 3
  • Thursday: No tasks completed → streak resets to 0
  • Friday: Complete one Task → streak = 1, longestStreak still = 3

Notice that longestStreak remains at 3 even after the reset on Thursday.
